: Man of The Moment :

For those who have been living under a rock for the past month or so would have no caught the new show called The Secret Circle which is currently airing on CW over in the US and Sky Living over here in the UK. It is based on the story by LJ Smith about modern day Witches and Warlocks (Harry Potter eat your heart out) So Man of The Moment this time around goes to this guy right here. Ladies and Gentlemen may I present to you Mr Louis
Hunter....

Dishy or what? He plays Nick on the show and he is very mysterious if I must say so. I cannot wait to see where his character progresses but one for sure I am gonna keep watching. :D

Until next time folks. :)

: Tried and Tested :

Sorry I have not blogged for like almost two months, things have been a bit hetic with me in trying to find a full time job (which has not gone so well :( ) and other personal problems, but the good news is I am back on the blogging scene. As it is Thursday I want to bring a new feature to the blog time for Try it and Test it. :) and as I love to review stuff I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. :D The first thing that I am going to review is.......

Pure Delight Skin Tonic

The above is a skin toner from Virgin Vie, I got this when I joined to become a Virgin Vie consultant last year which did not work out but never mind. I use the facial toner twice a day, normally after I have showered and before I go to bed with cotton pads, which normally gets the job done quickly. I only use a small dab of it. The toner itself has left my skin feeling refreshed and very soft. :)

Book Review : Dead Beautiful

Dead Beautiful - Yvonne Woon

What is it about?

At Gottfried Academy, just one kiss will take your breath away. After Renee discovers her parents dead in what appears to be a strange double murder, she is sent to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious high school dedicated to philosophy, 'crude sciences', and Latin: the Language of the Dead. Here she meets Dante, a dark and elusive student who harbors a deadly secret, but to whom she feels inexplicably drawn. Despite himself, Dante cannot control his attraction to Renee either and their desires gradually deepen into a complex and dangerous romance. But Dante's not the only one with secrets...Gottfried Academy has a few of its own.

My Thoughts

Dead Beautiful is the debut novel  from Yvonne Woon and what a rollercoaster ride she takes us on within this novel, which is what I love from a debut novel.
First we join Renee who seems to a normal teenage girl at school who’s life seems to be perfect with the best friend, boyfriend and job. However tragedy strikes with the untimely and suspicious death of her parents. Things change for Renee when she goes to live with her estranged grandfather who enrols her to Gottfried Academy much to Renee’s displeasure. Things at Gottfried Academy are not what they appear to be as the school has many dark secrets of its own. At the Academy she meets the mysterious Dante (who take my word for it is very much the dark mysterious stranger and I fell for him from his first appearance within the book)

Throughout the book it had me on tenterhooks, there are so many suprises, I would so reccomend it if anyone wants a dark gothical romance novel, then read it. :)

Overall rating: 5/5 :D

Discrimination

Normally I am not a fan of Katie Price but personal feelings aside of her, I was watching a documentary that she produced about her son Harvey, who has a number of disabilities. The aim of the documentary was to get to the bottom why her son was used in a joke by comedian Frankie Boyle. Personally I thought the joke was disgusting and people were actually laughing, how can anyone call that humour?

This is the problem with today’s society people are always discriminating against other people just because they have something wrong with them.  One of the main groups who are always stigmatised for having something wrong with them is people who have mental health issues and disabilities.

Discrimination happens everywhere whether in the work place to health. Mind the mental health charity has a campaign going called ‘Time to Change’ which basically focuses on changing the way how people think towards people with mental health problems. The results from the campaign so far say that the campaign is working however only a little. I personally think that more needs to be done not just by Mind but the government needs to be stepping in as well.

The discrimination and stigma towards people with mental health problems will only be reduced if people start changing their attitudes.

Until next time.

: Man of The Moment :

I am sorry for the lack of posts again but my dissertation has kind of overtaken my life for the moment. It is due in for a weeks time. So after that is over and done with I will back properly. :D For now the man of the moment is Mr Rock himself. :D I recently got back into WWE and I am so glad I did because The Rock, Mr Team Bring it himself is back. He made a brilliant appearence at Raw this past Monday night for his birthday celebration and I was moved cause I have really missed him. HAHA he gave a few Rock Bottoms here and the notably one he gave for Michael Cole (Who I love aswell,Coleminer for life <3) so I got really excited when both of them were in that ring together. :D So that leaves me with no further a do to introduce Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson <3 for Man of The Moment.

Me and Jack went to see the Fast Five last week and it was great and I would highly reccomend it however it is best to see the other films first. :D

New Bands : Review

As a die hard music lover such as myself, I have a passion of discovering new bands and really rating them. I went to see Mcfly two weeks ago at Wembley and even though Mcfly know how to put on a pretty good damn show the two out of the three support acts were amazing.

The first band were The Struts, when they first came on the stage I was not impressed but a song or two later I soon changed my mind because they are a bunch of talented guys, The lead singer reminded me of a Freddie Mercury in his younger days when Queen in beginning. :) Now for the life of me I cannot remember all the songs they performed however I have looked on the official website and I came across this one. :)

Now the chemistry the all the guys have in the band is pretty amazing and they know how to lay down good vocals and are on top form with playing the instruments. I am quite looking forward to more material from them and if I had the chance to go and see them live again I would.

Rating: 4.5/5

The second band that supported the Mcfly boys at Wembley were a band called City Stereo. Now I for one I am totally in love with this band. <3 Like The Struts they all have amazing chemistry and sound amazing.  I am definitely going to buy the album, I am so certain it is on the website somewhere. I love the song The Rapture. :D Check it out below. :D

They all seem to be a close knit bunch of friendly guys and again I would not mind seeing them at a gig again. :)

Rating: 5/5

Wanna know more?

The last band that I am going to review did not support the Mcfly boys on tour I heard about them through heatworld.com :D and my god I am so glad I checked them out cause they know how to kill it and I am not joking. Not only does the new song come out in June but they are also supporting Olly Murs on tour this month and next. Now I would love to see them at a gig (However due to other commitments I cant make it :( which sucks really but never mind) Ladies and Gentlemen can I introduce to The Kixx.

Just because the acoustic versions are amazing and guess what I want more. :D Whoop whoop.

Rating: 5/5

Check them out :D

I hope you have time to check out all the above bands because in their own unique way they  have something to offer for all of us. Share the love. <3

: Man of The Moment :

So if you guys are not watching the second season of The Vampire Diaries you need to be because, not only are all the guys are smoking good looking, for example the sexay Ian Somerhalder, who plays one of the best vampires out there. Man of the Moment this time around goes to Joseph Morgan who will soon be gracing the screens as badass origninal vampire Klaus. :D

Now when I heard the news that Joseph Morgan was going to play Klaus, I was like 'Who is that?' and was not until I Googled him that I realised he was that other hot one from Hex (Along with Jamie Davis) He played Troy and only for one series aswell.

Overdue book reviews

As I promised when I first started this blog I was going to review the odd book here and there. Considering I love reading as a favourite past time. My main aim is two book reviews each week but that depends on university week and other things that go on in everyday life.
The two books that this review will contain are: The Summoning – Kelley Armstrong
                                                                                       Bloodline – Kate Cary

The Summoning – Kelley Armstrong

What is it about?
Chloe Saunders sees dead people. Yes, like in the films. The problem is, in real life saying you see ghosts gets you a one-way ticket to the psych ward. And at 15, all Chloe wants to do is fit in at school and maybe get a boy to notice her. But when a particularly violent ghost haunts her, she gets noticed for all the wrong reasons. Her seemingly crazed behaviour earns her a trip to Lyle House, a centre for disturbed teens.
My thoughts
When I first picked up the book and looked at the cover I was not impressed, then I opened the book and from the first page to the last page I was hooked. Normally I read all the vampire fiction but this book was a nice break from it.  So we are pretty much introduced to the lead character from the get go. My first impression of Chloe was she was seen to be a normal girl who is at High School but that is not the case, because she start seeing ghosts, as her story progresses throughout the book we see more a development of the character and she learns to deal with her problem, we see her form new friendships to help her and the prospect of a romantic relationship (I am not the one to give news because my saying is if you want to know more with a book you have to open it and read it yourself)
Overall the book was quite enjoyable and a definite read if you want to get away the usual vampire fiction stories then I would totally recommend this book as I really enjoyed it. I am so going to get the next book of the series.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Bloodline – Kate Cary

What is it about?
This is the original vampire romance: go back to where the bloodlust began! When nineteen-year-old John Shaw returns from World War I, he is haunted by nightmares - not only of the horrors of battle, but of the brutal midnight exploits of his superior, Captain Quincey Harker. When Harker appears unexpectedly in England and lures John's sister, Lily, to Transylvania, John must confront the truth. Only the love of pure Mary can save him from Count Dracula's poisonous bloodline. But the line goes further than John and Mary can possibly imagine. A new seductive evil walks among the living...
My thoughts
I am so glad I made the decision to buy this book and read it. The whole book is AMAZING. The book is a unofficial sequel to Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula (who is my favourite fictional Vampire of all time and some of the actors who have played him have been really good looking however this is not the time to say anything relating to that) So with that in my mind I sat down for a good few days and read the book and I was hooked. As the above says it follows the story of John and his friends. The book itself is written in diary entries just as Dracula was, from different points of view of the book’s primary characters.
Overall the book was amazing, the characters were each of their own and clearly the author is in a league of her own with her style of writing. I brought the next one in the series today so after I have finished with Midnight it is next on my list. The last thing I would like to add is Quincey is love. J That is all.
Overall Rating: 5/5

More about the author?

Please check out both of the authors because they really are amazing. :)

Until next time.

: Man of the Moment :

I know things have been quiet on the blogging front, I was ill (Still no better) and I had a university report that I had to hand in.  So anyway so I was watching Casino Royale over the weekend and it has ignited the passion again that I have for Daniel '007' Craig.

I had to find one him being James Bond, I have no idea why spies turn me on, James Bond is just another one to add to the collection along with Adam Carter (Spooks/Mi5) and Jack Bauer (24) :D I think Daniel Craig can be redeemed for wearing the stupid dress and wig for International Woman's Day.

: Sending prayers :

So this morning the world woke up to the sad news that Japan has suffered a pretty bad earthquake, it was like 8.5 on the richer scale thing and the earthquake caused a pretty bad tsunami that has sent ripples throughout the Pacific Ocean and the waves could get up to six metres. I have a few friends over in the US and Australia and I am really concerned about them all. I have just heard that the death poll has now increased to the thousands. I feel that I should do something, like go out there or something.

: It is all calm on the quiet front :

Well as far as blogging is concerned. I am trying to limit the time I come on the laptop at the moment what with uni work and deadlines approaching at the moment, the blogging train has come to a stand still at the moment, I have things that I want to post however it will have to wait for weekend. I attend to do little work over the weekend. :P But I am still alive, just.

: Man of The Moment :

Every week I am going to post who I think deserves a worthy mention. This week I think it goes to Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Not only is he mr sex on legs but he is a fantastic actor who plays Henry VIII so well in the Tudors and did I mention he is so hot? Oh yes I did. :D Wahooo. Blue eyes and a mega watt white smile really what is a girl to do, I think its getting a bit hot in here, so maybe he should take off all his clothes.
